The Odd Couple: this is the version from Neal Hefti , it actually has lyrics. Vicky Leandros brings us an excellent version of Love is Blue, which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

On the lyrics kick, Julie London with Around Midnight. Probably the most famous version of this song is from Oscar Peterson, 'Round Midnight. I didn't realize the song had lyrics until I'd heard Miss Julie London!

For a final twist, Ray Conniffs Mack the knife, well, it isn't what you'd expect... I just leave it at that.

Well, it's snowing.. and snowing.. and snowing.. and snowing! up here in Minnesota, good weather to stay inside, it seems so pointless to shovel when it'll be covered up in 2 hours anyway.

A note to the people using stream rippers: I admire your effort and I am honored, however, I can't officially condone the practice, I ask that if you're going to do it, at least use a stream ripper that ties up only one connection and hides itself from us a little better.

The problem is that some rippers use extra connections, this wastes bandwidth on both sides, costing everyone money.

Personally, I don't have a problem with someone ripping into hour long mp3 files for later play on their iPod or something, I wish the law allowed us to deliver podcasts, lifting individual tracks is silly though, the quality just isn't the same as napster or amazon. Internet radio is simply not an mp3 delivery service.

A lot of choral tracks this time!

First is Johnny Mann with Simon Zenther, their "Serenade in Blue" has a nice choral big band sound.

On the choral theme is Anita Kerr with "Remember When", I'm sure you'll agree they sound absolutely fabulous!

Joni James sings about how much we'll miss her "After You've Gone".

Billy May with "Rich Butterfly", a nice hopping jazz tune.

Percy Faith with "Brand New Morning", be very careful with this song, as it tends to get stuck in your head.

And finally, Serge Gainsbourg with "Du Jazz Dans Le Ravin" and if you can't speak French, you're not alone.. I can't either! but he does have a nice sound, I'm sure you'll agree. (I wonder what the words mean!)

It may sound redundant, but, Minnesota is not the place to be in the winter! The "studio" has icicles from a failing heating system, it's been a challenging past couple days, as I'm sure the rest of the winter will be. (I live in an old farm house with a wood stove..)
